| Description: |
This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the County of Grande Prairie (“the County”) to qualified consulting firms to submit proposals to provide technical planning, engineering, environmental, mapping, and related consulting services to support preparation of the La Glace Area Concept Plan (ACP) for the Hamlet of La Glace and surrounding lands, as further described in Section A of the Project Overview (Appendix B) (the “RFP Terms of Reference”). The County of Grande Prairie No. 1 is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide technical studies, technical analysis, mapping, and recommendations in support of the preparation of the La Glace Area Concept Plan (ACP). The Area Concept Plan (ACP) will establish a long-term planning framework for the Hamlet of La Glace and surrounding lands to guide:
The County will remain responsible for project management, public engagement, policy direction, Council reporting, bylaw preparation, and final ACP adoption. The successful consultant will focus on technical analysis, studies, mapping, and technical recommendations. Located in northwestern Alberta, on Treaty 8 Territory and in the Metis Nation of Alberta Zone 6, the County of Grande Prairie is home to a mix of urban and rural communities and immense opportunities. The natural resource-rich area serves as home to a diverse economic base that includes forestry, energy, agriculture, construction and manufacturing, as well as tourism, hospitality and retail. It also offers a playground for locals and visitors, with an abundance of indoor and outdoor recreation and cultural activities to suit any age.
